| Sometimes God places it on the hearts of people in the community to go above and beyond to bless Crossroad House Girls financially. We would like to dedicate this page to thank those who gave out of the kindness of their heart this holiday season. We appreciate every penny you donated to our teen mothers and at-risk girls to help make this a Christmas they will remember forever. Caite Hall of Webster’s University came to our facility in October
2012 with a wonderful group of students and staff. They volunteered
their time and energy cleaning and raking over 3 acres of land to
help make Crossroad House yard beautiful again. Among helping to
pick up tree limbs, brush, and other items, they put together a swing.
Shawanna Wyche was one of the students who volunteered her
time; she was so blessed by Crossroad House Girls mission and
purpose in the community that we will will be hearing from her soon
and she wanted us to keep her updated on our activities. During the
Christmas holidays, we received a call from Shawanna asking to
meet her at a nearby store. Once we were there she proceeded to
present Crossroad House Girls with numerous gift cards to help the
girls and Crossroad House. She blessed our home so much, for the
first time; we were able to purchase some essential items for the
home; and in the case of the girls, a shopping trip to buy some wish
items they have never been able to buy before.
It was such a thoughtful, selfless gift from the heart. Many young
ladies would have used that amount of money to spurge on
themselves and she used it to help young girls who have never had
the opportunity to indulge, even if it was just on nail polish and lip
gloss.
This young lady is in our armed forces and it is no surprise to find a
woman who of character, strength, and prestige. I have always
prayed for the men and women, who fight in the armed services, but
now I can say that I have a personal relationship with one and she is
a young lady of character. We love you Shawanna Wyche and we
can never thank-you enough for your selfless gift.
